Can't Take It Anymore

Typically the train doesn't bother me, the dorms are on the opposite side of campus for that reason. But in the beginning of the year when it was warm, people were always out and about and the nights weren't always that quiet so the train couldn't be heard. Now that it has gotten colder and we are in full blown winter, no one is outside, the trees are bare and don't really muffle the sound. The quiet nights let the blearing horn be heard all over and beyond campus.     Not only in the hours when I am trying to sleep do I tend to notice the sound, but for the entire year thus far; the train has either caused traffic in and out of the parking lot or made me late to practice on multiple occasions. Why did they have to put the parking lot on the other side of the train track? Not only is it potentially dangerous, but it just makes for an inconvenience unless you know the exact time the train is suppose to pass through. That is really the only issue I can ...

That's The Way, Uh-huh Uh-huh

One thing that I really like about Cal U is the people. For the most part, everyone is really nice and kind. People on the track team have become some of my closest friends and everyone else in my classes that I talk to are also nice. When I had visited some friends at other schools last semester, the people I encountered were not so nice. They would give you dirty looks or have an attitude for no reason and I wonder if it's because Cal U is a smaller school so people are generally just kinder.     It isn't just the students though, it is also the professors and other faculty I have talked to. All of them are very helpful and understanding. I know some of my friends outside of this college have told me how unreasonable some professors are. Or the fact that they basically have to teach themselves because class sizes are so large and the professors rarely have time to help out students, or simply because the professors don't have a good attitude when it comes...

My Expectations

My expectations for this semester are to get all B's and A's in my classes with a GPA that I think is good for me, around a 3.5 or higher. I am expecting to be better at the end of my track season and maintain my physique over summer to essentially pick up in the fall semester where I leave off this spring. I hope that these next three years of classes aren't too hard or overwhelming because I do not expect to have to retake any courses in the future. I also expect to have a better idea of what I want to do exactly by junior year. I hope to keep the close friends that I made in high school and college once I move and take my first real job, of course making new ones along the way. I hope that I like my job and can continue to move up and do work that I love.
